Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Lashing winch for a flat-bed trucker trailer. This Lashing winch can be used on a flat-bed trucker trailer to secure a strap over your load. Winch straps are sold separately and available at etrailer.com.This will work with a winch strap up to four inches wide. And it does require a winch tightening bar for operation. Winch tightening bars are sold separately. This is a standard profile Lashing winch.
It offers fast easy installation with a bolt on design so there's no welding required. The winch base attaches to the outside of your trucker trailer frame with the two included set bolts. This unit features a nice durable steel construction with a black powder coated finish to resist rust and corrosion. On this side right here you have your catch mechanism. So you have the lever right here. You flip that up to disengage. Allows it to go into free spool and then flip it down so that it does engage and hold the straps securely in place. This unit meets or exceeds Department of Transportation requirements and WSTDA specifications.
When it comes to the overall measurements of the unit, I measured from outer edge to outer edge and got a measurement of about 8 inches wide from the very bottom of the unit to the top of the unit. This bracket right here was about 6 1/2 inches tall. That measurement increases to 6 and 7/8 inches tall if we include the bolt heads. And then from the front of the unit to the back of the unit is about 3 and 9/16 inch deep.It has a capacity of 5,500 pounds. The mandrel diameter is this right here, this is 1 and 15/16 of an inch in diameter. And then the openings for the winch bar, there's four of them each one of those openings has a diameter of 15/16 of an inch. The mounting bracket right here on top, edge to edge, place a ruler on there, and see that, that measures 3 7/8 of an inch wide by about 2 inches long.
Now if the 2 inch measurement is measured from the bottom of the base bracket, to the edge of the base is 2 inches. But if you measure from right here at the curve to the front of the bracket that's about 1 7/8 of an inch long. The mount holes, these are separated on center by 2 inches. And the channel opening, that's the gap right here, is 3/4 of an inch. That's gonna do it for today's look at the Lashing winch for a flat bed trucker trailer.
